It’s only getting colder outside and winter clothing are becoming a necessity. People need clean serviceable ones every season to stay warm and safe.

As a sewing enthusiast, I decided to take winter sewing projects to the next level. Instead of making winter gloves, bonnets, and pj’s, I am attempting to make sweaters and coats. Both for myself and the whole family, of course.

If I can spare a few bucks to indulge in my favorite hobby, it isn’t hard work at all. I also joined clothing drives in our to provide winter clothing to those who need it most.

Here is a list of winter clothing projects I have tried, as well as a few that’s still on my to-do list. Some of them can be a bit intimidating, but I know with some practice, we will all succeed!

From women’s winter tops to other cute winter clothes, you can be fashionable on a budget. These ideas may be a step up from the usual projects I share with you, but they’re all worth it.

    Absolutely none of them. If I want mittens and leg warmers, I’ll make them the correct way — knit them. As far as ponchos, capes, stoles and the like – nope. No to sewn sweaters, too. Give me a nice tailored wool coat, some nice stretch pants, a wool jacket, and so on.

    There are some really cute ideas here. I’m sorry some people thought they had to be so rude. These are totally items I would wear & they would make cute gifts too.

    I love these ideas! I like easy sew projects and also recycling one thing to something else. I camp and have had to fashion cold weather clothes “on the fly” a few times. The poncho/shawl/coat is similar to something I had to create for my granddaughter when the weather turned colder than we expected during one of our trips. These are great ideas!
