10 Easy Dog Crafts Your Pooch Will Love On Dog Appreciation Day
Show Your Love To Your Dog Through Dog Crafts
Dog Appreciation Day is a celebration that started back in 2004 by Colleen Paige, an animal behaviorist. Since then, dog lovers have made it a point to show how much they love their four legged friends on this specific day.
I got a couple of easy sewing projects lined up for you and your best friend. From your pooch’s shoes to a car hammock, I got these dog crafts for you. The patterns are really easy you can even hand sew them.
Plus, other materials are cast-offs so you won’t need to spend money on them. Some of the projects here are also purrfect for your other pets. (Dogs are loving and they won’t complain, they’ll just give you more loving.) So let’s get on with the list!
1. Quilted dog bed
Gather up your scraps and use them to create a quilted dog bed. This is a great way to train your dogs to concentrate their activity in one area of the house only.
2. Dog dress shirt collar
One quick way to make your dog look smart on Dog Appreciation day is to create a dress shirt collar for them. You will just need to snip off the collar of an old button down shirt for this project. What do yo think about dog crafts as cute as these?
3. Cooling vest or backpack
A vest or a cute backpack is perfect for guide or medical dogs. You can put in some treats or necessities in the pocket. Also, putting your phone in the pocket and letting the dog run around while you’re playing Pokemon Go is a great hack for hatching eggs too!
4. Dog leg warmers
I think this is a beautiful way to add style and color to your dogs looks. You can even seal off the bottom to create shoes or adorable booties. Now these are dog crafts you need to start on before winter this year!
5. Car hammock
This is one good way to protect your car seat from dogs. Good thing about this is it is not just a blanket. It’s a hammock–so you won’t be worrying about whether your dog is comfortable inside the car or not.

6. Bandana
The bandana is a great idea to add cheer to a boring leash. You can use any scrap fabric for dog crafts like this one. Brighter colors would be nicer, so you can always keep tab on where your dog is when in you’re in a crowded place.
7. Booties
Keep your dogs’ four tiny feet protected with booties — definitely one of my favorite easy dog crafts in the list. You can be creative with the material you use and adjust it according to the season. Choose waterproof materials for winter and lighter materials for summer.
8. Dog dress
Take your doggies from cute to totally adorable by sewing them easy dog crafts like tiny dresses! You can download any dress pattern online. Then let it inspire you to create more costumes for them.
9. Collar
Easy sewing projects like dog collars can be boring sometimes. But you can totally change that. Grab some colorful pieces of fabric and sew them together.
10. Pet pocket
Try making one of these easy dog crafts, a secret pocket for your dogs, for extra convenience. It is so small, you can just clip it on his collar. You can even hide spare keys or a note in it.
Tutus on dogs look really cute. This video from beecreative shows us how to make them.
Dog Appreciation Day aims to bring to everyone’s attention to the issue of dog adoption. It also raises awareness on providing a safe and loving environment for rescue dogs. Take your dog for a walk today or if you don’t have one yet, visit an animal shelter and adopt a dog.
Do your share to show the canine world some love. You can even do it by making any of these dog crafts.
